Nicole Makin
With over 20 years of experience in the Cayman Islands, Nicole brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the real estate industry. Her diverse professional background, which includes finance, hospitality, and development, equips her with a unique perspective to navigate complex transactions and guide clients through strategic investments.
Nicole’s career in Grand Cayman began as the head of finance at a boutique hotel, where she led initiatives to boost profitability and optimize the hotel’s assets. By 2011, she took on broader responsibilities, spearheading major strategic projects to improve the long term value, ultimately resulting in the successful sale of the hotel in 2016. Nicole then joined Dart Real Estate’s Development Planning division, managing development strategies for residential and hospitality projects across the Cayman Islands. During her tenure, she was instrumental in the acquisition and value add of several prominent hotels, including planning Grand Cayman’s first Hotel Indigo product.
In 2022, Nicole launched Evolve Cayman, her own consulting firm, offering strategic advisory services to real estate developments throughout the Caribbean to enhance their profitability and resilience. Since then she has worked on a variety of development projects and hotels within the region, including continuing as an owner’s representative for Hotel Indigo, guiding the project to its grand opening.
Nicole’s strong financial foundation is backed by a BSc (Hons) in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, along with a professional ACCA qualification, a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Strategy from Oxford's Saïd Business School, and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification.
Her deep understanding of the local market and ongoing experience working with developers around the Caribbean make Nicole a trusted partner for buyers, sellers, and investors alike.
